We are a boutique winery that is located in the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Each of our vintages is small and select, a labor of skill and love. Our goal at Black Rock Vintners is to create the finest, and most enjoyable wines to be enjoyed by our friends and customers.

For over 30 years Anthony Izzo has been handcrafting fine wines. His passion for wines started as a child, where he grew up around relatives who made wine and he wanted to carry on that family tradition. It was Anthony’s uncle who first taught him the basics and process of wine making, and the two worked together experimenting with different grapes and techniques. This passion for wine led him to start making his own wine out of the basement of his house for friends and family. Each year the demand for his wine increased, so in 2003 he decided to go commercial. He then created Black Rock Vintners and relocated the winery to its current location in a 4,000 square-foot facility in Black Rock.

We released our first commercially available vintage, a 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon in April 2006.
